Description of Work

Liz works at the intersection of various worlds—video and multimedia, Jewish and secular, international and hyper-local, mainstream and independent—to tell true but off-the-beaten path stories. Her work investigates complex issues from personal perspectives, in order to expose people to each other’s experiences and create connections between them. Recently, she has been exploring transmedia storytelling techniques wherein different parts of a story play out across different media, thereby giving audiences varied and increasingly personal pathways into engagement with the work.

Her current project  ‘Jerusalem Unfiltered’ immerses audiences in the richness and possibilities of contemporary Jerusalem through various media interactions. For example, on the website users explore a multimedia collage of Jerusalem’s colorful neighborhoods to discover thematic tours and short film profiles of innovative political, social and cultural leaders who are re-imagining the city through a progressive lens. Unlike traditional walking tours, here the young citizens shaping Jerusalem’s future introduce visitors to the issues that matter most to them, offering an insider’s perspective on their city.
